Punarnava Ayurveda Trust
Punarnava Ayurveda was established in the year 2005 with the Vision of “Authentic Ayurveda for Universal well-being". It has conducted two international conferences in 2006 and 2008 in Mahabalipuram and Rishikesh respectively as part of its commitment to encourage and inspire students to go deeper into the study of traditional Indian knowledge systems in the interest of global wellness. Punarnava Ayurveda Trust has also been conducting medical camps on a regular basis for the poor and needy in villages on the outskirts of Coimbatore in southern India. Punarnava Ayurveda Trust is a registered Trust under Section 80-G of the Government of India Income Tax Act.

Dr. Ramkumar hails from a family steeped in the traditional
practices
of Ayurveda, through generations. Dr. Ramkumar is the Managing Trustee
of Punarnava Ayurveda Trust which hosts this Conference “Ayurveda and
Yoga – Where Science Meets Consciousness” conference in Rishikesh in
February 2011. He leads the team in creating the Ayurveda healing
village vaidyagrama in the outskirts of Coimbatore, where the aim is to
create a Green Hospital with authentic Ayurveda compliance. Dr. Ramkumar
also lectures widely in America, Europe and South-East Asia on
different aspects of Ayurveda.

Dr.
J. M. Sampath is the Managing Director of
Arpitha Associates Pvt Ltd., a
Center for Excellence with offices in Malaysia, Singapore, USA and
India. Dr. Sampath is a quintessential learner, also a director of
Punarnava Ayurveda. Working with individuals with a fundamental
process-oriented approach, Dr. Sampath's life and mission parallel
facilitation of the movement towards wisdom in the quest for excellence,
in all spheres of human activity. The conceptual understandings of
'Values Clarification for Change' and 'Learning for Nurturing
Excellence' are the cornerstones of Dr. Sampath's work. He believes that
clarity about one's values will help understand one's behavior and make
'change processes' more effective.

Dr.
K.K. Harikrishnan has carried on the
traditions of his Ayurveda lineage
that has its origin in the land of Ayurveda – Kerala. After completing
his graduation in Ayurveda Medicine from Coimbatore Ayurveda College in
1991, he underwent training for a year in Ayurveda Pediatrics. This
Director of Punarnava Ayurveda has dedication and commitment to
all-round health, which has seen him build up a successful practice,
treating patients from across the globe, for ailments like inflammatory
diseases of the joints, sinusitis, gastric problems, neurological
complaints, skin diseases, respiratory problems, children’s problems and
problems relating to old age. The Arogyodayam Ayurveda Hospital is a
Punarnava initiative with authentic Ayurveda in a contemporary setting
of a Kerala village.

Dr.
A. R. Ramadas inherits the strong familial
traditions of a long line of
Ayurveda practitioners. One of the Directors of Punarnava Ayurveda, Dr.
Ramadas completed his Ayurveda Course and underwent training in
Ayurvedic Ophthalmology and later in Pediatrics. With his M.S in
Psychotherapy and Counseling also, he joined as consultant physician in
his family firm Rajendra Pharmacy and R.P.M Ayurvedic Nursing Home. In
his 18 years of practice he has treated over 50,000 patients for
ailments relating to respiratory problems, allergy, eyes, skin and also
mental problems. He had headed the Ayurveda healing team in Punarnava
Ayurveda’s center in Vietnam. He is the Medical Director of the first
cluster in vaidyagrama, Punarnava Ayurveda’s Ayurveda village.


Dr.
E. K. Ramanandan, one of the Directors of
Punarnava Ayurveda, belongs to a
traditional family of Ayurveda physicians in Kerala. He is an alumnus of
Ayurveda College, Coimbatore, with the Gurukula system of education,
from where he took his degree in 1994. After gaining experience under
experts including his father, Dr. Ramanandan is running an Ayurveda
hospital and Ayurveda medicine manufacturing unit called Thulasi
Ayurveda Chikitsalayam, at Alanallur - Kerala. He is is specialized in
pediatrics, abdominal disorders, uterine complaints, arthritis and back
pain. He has conducted regular consulting sessions in places like
Mumbai.

Dr. Kalpana Sampath has a background in human resource management, in the
specialized field of learning and value clarification. Over the last 15
years she has helped around 20,000 individuals (from some of the leading
companies across the world) understand themselves. One of the Directors
of Punarnava Ayurveda, Dr. Kalpana and her family have been practicing
Ayurveda treatments for several years, both in the preventive and
curative mould, and are firmly committed to helping Ayurveda reach more
people. She is also the Director of Arpitha Associates Pvt. Ltd,
Bangalore.

Dr. Somu is a Physician, who graduated from Coimbatore Ayurveda College, and has gained experience in Ayurveda research.
He is now occupied with the project of creation of Punarnava Ayurveda's healing village vaidyagrama. He was actively involved in Conference 2008.

R. Kavitha has
been offering her administrative service in the field
of
Ayurveda for around 13 years, and has been managing the office of
Punarnava Ayurveda since 2004. The Conference 2006 and 2008 also saw her
responsible mainly for Registration and Database management.

Aparna
Sarma, with around 9 years experience in
the
Ayurveda world in the role of a PRO, is the coordinator for this
Rishikesh Conference 2011, on behalf of Punarnava Ayurveda Trust.

Deepak Singh was born in India, studied as a mechanical engineer in
England, attempted to understand air craft engines, developed products
for the coal industry, cleaned fuel for the offshore North Sea oil
platforms, went to India as the auto industry was opening up, came to
the USA to work on alternative fuels, sold Ayurvedic products, managed
conferences all over the world and is now packaging spiritual journeys
to India. He is also managing the “Ayurveda and Yoga – Where Science
Meets Consciousness” conference in Rishikesh in February 2011.

Renu Gulati was born in the UK and currently lives in Rishikesh. She studied Sanskrit and Indian Philosophy at Edinburgh University, worked as an Immigration lawyer in both the charitable and international corporate sectors and later qualified as an Ayurveda Practitoner and Yoga asana teacher. She teaches and writes on Ayurveda and Yoga, manages International Ayurveda and Yoga Events, conducts Ayurveda and Yoga Retreats, consults for Ayurveda and Yoga Centres and counsels in Ayurveda diet and lifestyle. Her special interest is Ayurveda nutrition. She inspired and managed an Ayurveda restaurant, designs Ayurveda menus, trains Ayurveda catering teams and teaches Ayurveda cooking. She is the Rishikesh coordinator for this “Ayurveda and Yoga – Where Science Meets Consciousness” conference at Rishikesh in February 2011.

Dr Rama Prasad studied Ayurveda and Yoga for 8 years from the Coimbatore Ayurveda College, in a gurukula style. For the past 20 years he is practicing Ayurveda internationally. He runs courses and consultations in most large cities in Australia. Rama uses Ayurvedic and Yogic wisdom that he gained from the university and his village in his clinic. He has identified over 2,000 ayurvedic herbs that are native to Australia. His future plan includes training centers and holistic health villages internationally.
