Sri Swamini Mayatitananda Sarasvati (Formerly, Maya Tiwari)


Sri Swamini Mayatitananda (Mother) is considered by many to be the embodiment of the Divine Mother. For thirty years, she has been transforming thousands of lives with her healing presence. Mother fills a significant void in the world culture as spiritual mother, nurturer, and healer–a living personification of Peace. A world-class spiritual Teacher, she is the founder of Mother Om Mission (MOM), a charitable organization whose inner-medicine healing education for at-risk communities is changing violence and disease into harmony and health. Mother is also the spiritual head of Wise Earth School of Ayurveda –the first school for Ayurveda in the USA. She has been a featured speaker at the Global Peace Congress of Women’s Spiritual Leaders in Geneva, Switzerland. Mother is a best selling author of Ayurveda: A Life of Balance; Ayurveda: Secrets of Healing; and the Nautilus nominated, The Path of Practice; Her newest book, Women’s Power to Heal through Inner Medicine, has received notable acclaim.

Sri Swamini Mayatitananda has been carefully trained by Sri Pujya Swami Dayananda Sarasvati- India’s great sage and scholar of the Veda Vyasa lineage.


Dr. David Frawley


Dr. David Frawley (Pandit Vamadeva Shastri) is the author of over twenty books, as well as several training courses on Ayurveda, Yoga, Vedic astrology and Vedanta. He is regarded as one of the leading proponents of Vedic knowledge, not only in the West but also in India today. He has emphasized the Yoga and Ayurveda connection, particularly the importance of an integrated Yoga and Ayurveda therapy using all eight limbs of Yoga according to an Ayurvedic understanding of both physical and psychological disease.

Dr. Frawley is the Director of the American Institute of Vedic Studies (www.vedanet.com), which has affiliated Ayurvedic schools throughout the world. These include the European Institute of Vedic Studies ( France, UK, Holland, Switzerland), the Vedic Center Ruegen ( Germany and Russia), the California College of Ayurveda, Dancing Shiva Yoga Center, Kripalu Yoga and Ayurveda, and the American College of Vedic Astrology.

Dr. Frawley’s main books on Ayurveda and Yoga include: Yoga and Ayurveda, Yoga for Your Type, Ayurveda and Marma Therapy, Ayurveda and the Mind, Ayurvedic Healing, Ayurveda, Nature’s Medicine, Yoga of Herbs, Vedantic Meditation, Ayurvedic Astrology and Tantric Yoga. These have been translated into over ten languages world wide and are all available in India.

Shri. Pattabhi Jois


Shri. Pattabhi Jois, born in Karnataka- India, was taught the Vedas and Hindu rituals from an early age, as most Brahmin boys. When he was of 12 years, he attended a yoga demonstration by Sri T. Krishnamacharya and for the next two years, he learnt from this Guru. He wished to attend the Sanskrit University of Mysore, and completed his studies in spite of many odds. At the instance of the Maharaja of Mysore, the Yoga Department of the Sanskrit College began in 1937 under Shri. Pattabhi Jois & he continued there until his retirement in 1973. He earned his professorship at the University, granting him the title of Vidwan.

In 1964, the first Westerner came to study with him, and more Europeans joined soon. Around 1972, the first Americans too came when Ashtanga Yoga began spreading in America. In 1975, he made his first trip to America, and over the next 25 years, the practice spread through the United States, France, Germany, Russia, Japan, Israel, Chile, England, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc. Shri. Pattabhi Jois has been teaching uninterruptedly the same method that he learned from his Guru in 1927.

Dr. Hari Sharma


Dr. Hari Sharma is Professor Emeritus and Director of Cancer Prevention and Natural Products Research, The Ohio State University, College of Medicine & Public Health, Columbus, Ohio in America. He has published over 130 research papers, has authored over 200 abstracts and presentations. He has written four books, namely, 1.) Freedom from Disease: How to Control Free Radicals - a Major Cause of Ageing and Disease; 2.) Contemporary Ayurveda; 3.) Awakening Nature’s Healing Intelligence; and 4.) The Answer to Cancer.

Dr. Sharma is a member of various national and international professional societies. He is also distinguished as a Fellow of National Academy of Ayurveda, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

 
Dr. Robert Svoboda


“Ayurveda is a science of reality as that reality is expressed in embodied life."

Robert E. Svoboda is the first Westerner ever to graduate from a college of Ayurveda and be licensed to practice Ayurveda in India. During and after his formal Ayurvedic training Robert was tutored in Ayurveda, Yoga, Jyotish, Tantra and other forms of classical Indian lore by his mentor, the Aghori Vimalananda. After living in India for more than a decade, he has continued to spend much of each year there and in other lands. The author of a dozen books, he serves as Adjunct Faculty for the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque and for Bastyr University in Seattle.

Dr. J. M. Sampath


Dr. Sampath through his research and experience in specialized fields of Learning and Value Clarification has designed and developed a number of tools and processes which can facilitate understanding Learning and Values clarification. These have successfully been used to help over 20,000 individuals understand themselves through 500 workshops in the last 17 years.

He is the Managing Director of Arpitha Associates; a research based consulting organization dedicated to work towards human excellence, Insight publishers, and an organization that promotes work that enhances human consciousness.

Sampath’s core skills in consulting include, Developing Organizational Culture for nurturing Excellence, Leadership Development and Coaching, Design and Development of innovative programmes in the area of corporate governance, Leadership etc.


Shri. N. V. Raghuram


Shri. N.V.Raghuram’s interest in spiritual learning and in the philosophy of yoga and allied subjects started in a young age. His association with Vivekananda Kendra started in 1978 and since its conception in 1980, he is associated with Vivekananda Kendra Yoga Anusandhana Samsthan, (Yoga Research Foundation – Bangalore, India)

Mr. Raghuram has been associated with Vivekananda Yoga Research Center (VYASA) as senior faculty since 1989. In this connection he has traveled extensively to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Turkey, Romania, England in Europe, USA, South East Asia, & has conducted several yoga courses, stress reduction programs and spiritual retreats. He has devised Yoga therapy for neurological problems, chronic back pain, eating disorders, bronchial asthma, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis; & is also instrumental in starting in MD Anderson Cancer Research Center in Houston, Stift Neurological Clinic in Germany, Memorial hospital in Turkey, Ft Collins, Colorado USA.

He has published several medical research papers in medical and yoga journals and publications. He is presently guiding several projects of yoga therapy for heart patients and psychotic patients etc at several places.

Prof H R Nagendra


(PhD in Mechanical Engineering), Vice-chancellor of SVYASA , is also the President of Vivekananda Yoga Research Foundation, Bangalore. He was a NASA research associate and consultant at Harvard University before his interests turned to full time involvement in human engineering and the search for ultimate reality. His life mission is the scientific exploration of the subtle aspects of consciousness through yoga.
