Ayurveda Conversation 2024

This is the second edition! Last year we had 150 students and 48 panellists.
This year, slightly different in style to make it even more exciting!
Welcome to Ayurveda Conversations 2024, a transformative three-day event designed to foster open dialogue on revitalising the practice of Ayurveda in today's modern world. This conference emphasises the ancient principle of "Yuganuruupa Sandarbham" by Vagbhata, highlighting the timeless need to adapt and update Ayurveda to suit contemporary contexts.

Significance

Historical Context: Continuous updating and contextualising knowledge is a cornerstone of Indian tradition. Vagbhata's teachings remind us that science must evolve to remain relevant.
Knowledge Building: Rooted in the Indian tradition of Bharatiya Gyan Parampara, structured discussions (Vaada) have always been vital. Guru-Shishya sambhasha remains the best method for imparting and assessing knowledge.
Current Need: With the decline of the Bhishak guna “Drushta karma” among students, this conference offers a unique platform for them to learn from the masters, gaining invaluable insights and guidance.

The Event Goals

Reinvigorate Ayurveda: Facilitate discussions that breathe new life into Ayurvedic practices.
Encourage Critical Thinking: Promote questioning and critical evaluation of both traditional and contemporary Ayurvedic practices.
Create an Open Space: Offer a safe environment for addressing concerns and questions about Ayurvedic principles (Siddhantas) directly with the masters.
Foster Dialogue: Generate enriching conversations among practitioners (traditional, neo-traditional, and contemporary), teachers, researchers, writers, and students of Ayurveda.

How it is Conducted
The 3-day event features sessions addressing diverse topics under two central themes:

Guru-Shishya Dialogue: Each session will involve a conversation between Guru and Shishya, where the Guru will answer the Shishya's queries with deep insights, knowledge, and experience.
Diverse Perspectives: Different Gurus will respond to the same questions, creating a dynamic dialogue that illuminates the nuances of each topic for the audience.
Interactive Sessions: Sessions will welcome questions and concerns, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

Expected Outcome

Updating Knowledge: Students will gain a refreshed comprehension of Ayurvedic principles (Siddhantas).
New Perspectives: Develop innovative perspectives and pathways for Ayurvedic practice.
Strengthened Bonds: Reinforce the relationship between Gurus and Shishyas within the Ayurvedic community.
